Dr. Flavia Kessler Borges, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine and Perioperative Care, at McMaster University, an Internist at Hamilton Health Sciences, and a Scientist at the Population Health Research Institute, Hamilton, ON, Canada. Her research is focused on perioperative cardiac biomarkers, and perioperative strategies to improve patient outcomes in surgical patients, particularly in hip fracture patients. She holds an Internal Career Research Award from Hamilton Health Sciences, and Canadian Institute for Health Research (CIHR) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants as Principal Investigator of the HIP ATTACK-2 trial.
