Dr. Jackie Bosch, PhD, MSc, OT Reg. (Ont), serves as a Professor in the School of Rehabilitation, is Assistant Dean for the McMaster Occupational Therapy Program, a Scientist at Population Health Research Institute, and a Researcher at the Chanchlani Research Centre. Additionally, Dr. Bosch holds an Adjunct Appointment with the University of Galway College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences. Her research focus is on advancing functional outcomes in clinical trials, with a particular focus on improving stroke outcomes for survivors in low-resource settings and enhancing clinical trial methodology. Dr. Bosch has played a pivotal role in leadership positions for large-scale trials including HOPE, HOPE-TOO, HOPE-3 (NCT00468923), DREAM (NCT00095654), ORIGIN (NCT00069784), TIPS-3 (NCT01646437), and COMPASS (NCT01776424). Beyond cardiovascular trials, she leads the Organized Stroke Care Across Income Levels (OSCAIL) group, which has successfully conducted a proof-of-concept study implementing crucial aspects of stroke unit care in hospitals within low-resource settings. Currently, the OSCAIL group is actively engaged in a community-based study aimed at improving outcomes for stroke survivors in these challenging environments. Dr. Bosch's multifaceted research portfolio also includes a keen interest in optimizing the conduct of clinical trials, particularly by exploring innovative approaches to streamline the start-up and execution processes for increased efficiency.
