Dr. Jason Roberts, MD, MAS, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at McMaster University, a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist and Director of the Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic at Hamilton Health Sciences, and Scientist at the Population Health Research Institute, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Roberts was involved in the development of point-of-care genetic testing and evaluated its potential clinical utility in a proof-of-concept study that utilized genotype to guide personalized dual antiplatelet therapy in coronary stenting (Lancet, 2012). He is currently leading the TaRGET, randomized trial, which is exploring potential clinical benefits of GSK3b inhibition in Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (ACM). Dr. Roberts' research programs primarily focus on genetic arrhythmia and cardiomyopathy syndromes, and he is particularly interested in evaluating the clinical utility of new drugs and gene-based therapies.
