Dr. John Eikelboom, MBBS, MSc, FRCPC, is Professor, Department of Medicine, McMaster University, Haematologist at the Hamilton General Hospital, and Senior Investigator, Population Health Research Institute, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He holds the Jack Hirsh/Population Health Research Institute Chair in Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis. Dr. Eikelboom conducts large scale epidemiological studies and randomized trials in cardiovascular and infectious diseases supported by peer-reviewed grants from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, and the Gates Foundation. Dr. Eikelboom has authored more than 800 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and since 2014 has been listed annually among the top 1% of the most cited researchers globally in Clinical Medicine.
