Dr. Jorge Wong

Dr. Jorge Wong, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at McMaster University, a Scientist at the Population Health Research Institute, and is a Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Hamilton Health Sciences. Dr. Wong obtained his MD at McMaster University, and his internal medicine and cardiology training at the University of Western Ontario. He completed his clinical electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Calgary and at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard University in Boston. While at Harvard, he also completed a Master of Public Health degree and is currently enrolled in the Health Research Methods PhD program at McMaster. His research interests are in the field of atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and obesity, including epidemiology, risk factor modification, treatment, and outcomes. He is the PI of the BRAVE trial, examining the efficacy and safety of metabolic surgery in patients with CVD and obesity. He has >70 published manuscripts and has an Early-Career Research Award from McMaster.
