Dr. Noel Chan

Dr. Noel Chan, MD, is an Associate Professor, Division of Hematology and Thromboembolism in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University, thrombosis staff at Hamilton General Hospital, and Scientist at Population Health Research Institute, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is Principal Investigator of the CIHR funded LEADER PAD trial (n=6150 participants) exploring whether anti-inflammatory therapy with low dose colchicine administered to high-risk patients with symptomatic PAD, reduces major adverse cardiovascular or limb events when compared to placebo. His research seeks to improve the understanding of the triggers for thrombosis and the determinants of variable response to antithrombotic therapies, to inform novel approaches to reduce the burden of thrombosis and understand the role of anti-inflammatory therapy in atherothrombosis.
